Podiatry

Welcome to JP Podiatry Services at The Spa, Hornby. It gives me great pleasure to bring my practice to an award-winning spa situated at such a luxurious venue. It’s a perfect place to bring together a synergy of beauty and clinical podiatry, making it even easier for you to look after your feet, by providing you with a unique opportunity when looking for foot care as part of your beauty routine or as a bespoke condition specific treatment. If you look after your feet regularly they will look after you for a lifetime.

A little bit about me:

I am Janice Peagam, a Member of The Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists (Membership Number 8550) www.feetforlife.org and I am Health Professions Council (HPC) Registered (Registration Number CH07632) www.hpc-uk.org

Qualifying from Durham in 1980 I have thirty-one years experience in the profession. Using that experience my aim is to provide you with a high quality, friendly, professional podiatry service, which is bespoke, to you, meeting all of your individual needs. Feet need regular maintenance just like any other part of your body to prevent future problems. I can offer you a stand-alone bespoke podiatry treatment or combine your podiatry treatment with pedicures, foot, leg and back massages to keep your feet looking beautiful, nourish your skin as well as promoting a sense of holistic well being and relaxation from within.

What is podiatry?

Podiatry and chiropody is the same thing. Podiatry is just a more modern term. Podiatry belongs to a series of professions, which are allied to medicine. ü      Hard skin and cracked heels

ü      Bunions

ü      Thickened and ingrown toe nails

ü      Flat feet

ü      Blisters

ü      Heel pain

ü      Bursitis

ü      Athletes foot

ü      Fungal infection of the nail/s

ü      Hammer toes

ü      Osteoarthritis affecting the feet

ü      Neuropathies

ü      Occupational foot condition

ü      Sports injuries

ü      Specialist care for diabetics, sufferers of rheumatoid arthritis and expectant mothers

Who can have podiatry treatment?

Podiatry treatment is for everyone at every stage of his or her life. You may have a specific problem or need a beneficial boost to your health and well being which you can have using this essential treatment as a tool you’re your everyday life. You can make an appointment to see me yourself, be referred to me by your regular therapist at The Spa or be referred to me by another health professional.

What happens during a podiatry treatment?

Firstly we will have an initial consultation in which I take your personal details, medical history and discuss your foot health and general medical conditions and concerns. We decide upon a treatment plan for you and at this stage I will carry out your bespoke podiatry treatment.

During the treatment I will cleanse your feet, clip and file your nails, treat your foot health problems, answer your questions and offer you advice as required and finish off with a relaxing aromatherapy massage to nourish your nails, skin and improve your circulation.

Wherever possible I use gentle, effective naturally based treatments, which are suitable for all ages and types of patient rather than harsh chemicals to alleviate your foot conditions in conjunction with standard podiatry therapeutic practices.

At this point the treatment can be concluded in its entirety or I can hand you over to one of my colleagues who will carry out your chosen beauty treatment.

Before you leave us you will be offered a return appointment to keep your feet in tiptop condition.
